Remember and Share

I was listening to Pandora the other day and James Taylor’s How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You) was playing. This song reminds me of my dad. My dad died from cancer on his 38^th birthday – I was 17. I had this idea, I love sharing stories about my dad and those that have passed.

I recently saw a Facebook post from a friend about the loss of her dad. She said from the time he was diagnosed with cancer until he passed was but a speck in his life yet she continued to dwell on it more than the beautiful times, the cancer-free times. She declared that this was the year she was going to stop doing this. Her last two lines read: “So I have decided that tomorrow will be the last time I acknowledge the day my Dad died. Because really, I would much rather remember all the wonderful days that my Dad lived.” I loved that she was sharing her dad with us that day.

We all process differently. Some find this a personal journey. Others process and connect by sharing out loud. It’s what makes us all unique. So I stopped and created a website and facebook page. Take a peek. Share if it feels good. I would love to see a bunch of posts from all of you, sharing your beloved with me, and each other.

I, maybe like you, have lost people in my life; sudden, accidental, illness, in utero. I have a big place in my heart for grief, death, and bereavement. I love hearing stories about others beloveds or even those we admire who have passed over. We all have stories to remember and share. I believe in remembering and sharing we are honoring their life and it also reminds us to live life fully.

I often tell my family, when I go I want it to be one BIG celebration. Regardless of the circumstances, I want lots of connecting, dancing, laughter and love. We are given (or choose this lifetime) but once – I want to live it! Each moment is all we have. If nothing else, I want to live it fully to honor those who have passed over before me.

This was my March Love Note to my newsletter subscribers. I didn’t quite get around to sending it so thought I would share it here…

Hey Magical Beauties!

Can you believe it’s March? I’ve deemed March the month of miracles and magic. HA. Every month is full of them, but I want to put an emphasis on them this month to remind you how truly awesome life is. Yes, we all experience bumps in the road but it’s your essential-self beliefs that determine how you move through and process them.

I believe in an abundant universe, the Divine has got my back and love is the answer. So ask yourself. What do you believe in? Shining a light on your beliefs is one step towards choosing love over fear.

I recently picked up Gabrielle Bernstein’s book, May Cause Miracles. I loved her previous book, Spirit Junkie, so much I knew I’d love this one too. And indeed I do. You know I’m a crazy fool for daily practices. Well, can I just tell you that everything I see and read these days… 21 Day Meditation Challenge, May Cause Miracles, ReWire Your Brain for Love all tote daily practice, daily meditation, daily self-love and self-care. This is the way you make the changes you want. It’s saying… I love me and deserve the same time and attention I give to everything else. Plus, the cool thing… you won’t feel depleted! When you make the decision to choose you:

you give from your reserves which is FULL of love and compassion
you show others how you want to be treated
you know your essential-self, your true self, and you can hear your souls loving messages guiding you in life and feel that deep soul love (mmmhmmm – this is good stuff!!)
you change the world without doing anything. By simply feeding your soul and connecting with spirit – you are you and you change the world!

Can you tell this gets me excited? It’s why I have a deep love for sharing meditation, daily practice, and self-love practices. Because when you are connecting to yourself on these levels you are connecting to your soul, which has all the answers! Happily Ever After. The End. Truly.

I love Pandora. You can listen to radio stations based on your music tastes and preferences. And for a low annual fee (I paid $39) you can listen commercial-free. For a music lover like me, pure heaven!

Soul-Full Sunday 3/3/13

I was reminded this week to love what I love and share it with the world. What is it I love? Abundance, plenty, magic and miracles.

In each moment we have a choice to choose fear or love, to critique or create. I choose to love and create.

Eight random things I love and am grateful for this week are…

The reminder to stop pretending and start owning that I believe in magic and miracles. There is NOTHING wrong with that.

Paying for a coach and investing in myself. We all get stuck.
How can you invest in yourself?
Reading a book that is reminding me why I love meditation and how life changing it can be.
Sunday nights in the living room with the fire and entire family cozy and comfortable. Happy sigh.
A surprise visit from my brother-in-law and his wife who live on the East Coast. Even though I missed seeing them, Dave and the kids got to.
Which leads me to where I was, spending time with my 92 year old grandmother. Fully ‘being’ there and sharing stories. Happy heart.

I have a deep desire to witness this and be a part of it. The only way to begin is to embrace loving myself. So I can show up as love, be love, and spread love.

I will begin now. I will love and be love. That means going to bed ~ to honor and nourish my body, mind, and spirit. I can’t be love and spread love if I don’t take care of me.
